Shared Care Agreements for ADHD Medications

The BSW ICB have released guidance about combinations of ADHD medications and does not recommend Lisdexamfetamine (slow release)  + dexamfetamine (immediate release).

Our ICB confirm that

“We have a “not supported” position for primary care.

If this UL (unlicensed) combination if used, it should only be prescribed by the specialist team. (that would mean privately not via RTC/shared care). We will be unable to start prescribing this combination via shared care and the patient will require a prescription privately from their usual provider

Email address should patient/provider wish to discuss with ICB: bswicb.prescribing@nhs.net

Please discuss with your provider what alternatives that you could try that are available on shared care with our ICB
