When you find out you are pregnant, there is no need to contact the GP practice as you can now self refer to maternity services.

If you have any specific concerns or wish to discuss your options, you can request a GP appointment by calling the practice or completing our medical triage form.

Support and wellbeing

The Bathnes website has some useful information supporting families pre-pregnancy, throughout the pregnancy and up until the child is 2 years old.

Pregnancy and having a baby can be a difficult time for new parents who may be experiencing changes in mood. Perinatal mental health support can offer support with this. A referral is required so please contact the practice if you wish to access this service.

Help with miscarriage, baby loss and trauma

If you’ve been affected by miscarriage, molar pregnancy or ectopic pregnancy, you can contact the Miscarriage Association.

Another available service is BANES is Ocean Birth Trauma and Loss Mental Health Service.

Your GP can also offer support if required. Please complete a medical triage form if you wish to seek advice or support. 

Termination of pregnancy

To get an abortion in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), you can self-refer or ask your GP for a referral to an abortion provider like MSI Reproductive Choices UK or BPAS.
