Call Queues and Appointment Booking Policy

Our new system now allows unlimited lines, so you may hear higher queue numbers, but rest assured, you're not experiencing longer wait times—just more transparency in the process.

Our phones lines are well staffed. The higher call queues have always been there; previously, you may not have noticed because it was difficult to get through. You can now use the call back function to hold your place in the queue.

Urgent or Same-Day Appointments are not routinely booked at the reception desk. Priority is given to answering calls as patients may not be able to visit the surgery, ensuring fair access to services.

We’re committed to ongoing improvements in our appointment system, with more changes to come.

We understand your frustrations but please be kind and respectful to our reception staff. We are very busy handling over 600 calls daily and managing 11,000 appointments each month. GP's are in practice seeing patients face to face not working remotely. Our only telephone list is the daily emergency list - here the GP will call you first and bring you in for a face to face appointment if necessary.

Further updates will be available in reception, on our website, and via social media.
